Tali de Noronha was born in 1990 in Santa Joana, in the southern region of Brazil, but now lives and works in London. With a background in business and design, de Noronha only started painting in 2023. She was driven by a profound inner calling to art; a realization that emerged as she sought deeper personal fulfilment and expression.
Through her art, De Noronha’s seeks to recover family memories in order to restore and heal inherited wounds by delving into the depths of her subconscious. This process is not merely an act of recollection, but a therapeutic attempt to heal intergenerational traumas and connect with her innate identity.
In 'Portals', her inaugural series of artworks, De Noronha channels her spiritual search to touch the core of the human experience. These paintings are characterised by their abstract nature, and she employs unconventional tools such as sticks and hard card to create textured, dynamic surfaces.
The artist invites the audience on a journey back to their primordial origins through abstract representations of doors, which serve as metaphorical portals to stimulate the viewer's imagination and help them reconnect with their authentic selves using their memories and experiences.
