Giovanni Rizzoli lived in Venice until 1977, when he moved to Canada to attend Stanstead College in Québec, where he spent three years. In 1980, he studied for an year and half at the École Nouvelle de Chailly in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 1982, he attented Saint Stephen’s School in Rome, where he received the International Baccalaureate. He then took the Sotheby’s Works of Art Course in London, in 1984 – 1985; between 1985 and 1987 he attented at the same time the Architectural Association and the City and Guilds in London. In 1988 in New York, he attended a course of traditional Japanese painting. After that, he graduated in Art History at the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, in 1991. He has been a visiting scholar at New York University in New York and Venice.
