We are glad to announce a new collaboration with mexican artist Eliel David Pérez Martínez!
Eliel David Pérez Martínez (1998, Oaxaca, MX) lives and works in Venice. He studied in the School of Fine Arts of Oaxaca (2015-2017), and Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia (2017-2021). In 2022 he was one of the residents at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation (Venice).
In his artistic research there is always the pictorial imprint that is used as a medium, with the intention of creating a language that is not only aesthetic, but also critical.
The artist ecplores different methods of representing the idea, the image and also the denunciation. The socio-cultural experiences he lived during his childhood and adolescence in southern Mexico became the cornerstone of his artistic representations.
Using different materials, such as waxes, resins, fabrics and papers of different thicknesses worked and assembled by the artist to he gives shape to a pulsating critique, which generates a personal language as an intradiegetic narrator of endemic and latent problems of today's society.
Despite the young age, Pérez Martínez has already had personal exhibitions in Mexico, Spain and Italy, and for May we are preparing his solo show at the gallery.
