On the occasion of Contemporary Istanbul, returning for its 19th edition, Wizard Gallery is pleased to present a solo show by Attila Szűcs (Miskolc, 1967). We invite you to visit us at Stand B1-19, where we will be showcasing a selection of eight recent works painted by the artist between 2023 and 2024.
In these works, a central theme of Szűcs’ oeuvre emerges: a profound sense of longing and a search for meaning in a world that often feels devoid of it. His subjects—whether human figures, floral motifs, or symbolic skulls—are imbued with an eerie, almost haunting quality that delves into the darkest aspects of human existence. This is not a superficial darkness but a deep, existential one that probes the core of what it means to be alive in an age where digital realities and ecological crises collide.
