ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE MANTELLATE - STUDIO STEFANIA MISCETTI - is proud to announce the fourth and final international appointment of Altri Venti - Ostro.
Altri Venti - Ostro has realized thanks to the support of the 9th edition of Italian Council 2020, a program to promote Italian contemporary art in the world by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture. It will be promoted by Associazione Culturale Mantellate - STUDIO STEFANIA MISCETTI, in collaboration with the cultural partners: Magazzino Italian Art, New York (USA), UNTREF / BIENALSUR, Buenos Aires (Argentina), Italian Institute of Culture of Lisbon (Portugal), Center for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci, Prato (Italy), Tools for Culture.
Bruna Esposito (Rome, 1960) roots her own artistic practice towards principles of inclusion, collaboration, and interdisciplinarity, for a research aimed at reality and its multiple imaginative potentials. Through the involvement of groups of people, she intertwines notions of engineering, architecture, and scientific research and promotes a techno-ecological vision of the world.
Altri Venti - Ostro could work anywhere in the world: the device of a car battery and photovoltaic panels, allow the work to produce the exact amount of energy necessary to spin the fan blades under which you are invited to stop by.
Altri Venti - Ostro is the first chapter of a series of works dedicated to the winds of the South, constant and vital presences connected to the movement, energy, and heat. Blade fans, and propellers are enriched by the presence of fans, primordial technology, one sort of the first prosthesis that allows the movement of the air around itself, reminding us of the need for timely intervention.
Helping to enrich the collections of the Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Altri Venti - Ostro by Bruna Esposito enters the museum collection.
